Chris Mayer

Chris Mayer is a 20 plus year veteran of the hospitality industry – acting for most of his career in the Sales & Marketing arena. After graduating in 1986 from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a B.S. in Business Administration, Chris went to work for Omni International, and rose through the ranks of the Food & Beverage Department. In 1989, he joined a small Midwest-based hospitality management company in the capacity of Director of Catering Sales for a 230 room hotel – where he generated record-setting sales for both single-month and total-year. In 1990, he was promoted to Director of Sales  for multiple units in the Midwest and was again promoted to General Manager for the company’s flagship property in 1994. His leadership as General Manager led the property to brand excellence awards in 1997. In 1998, Chris was promoted to Vice President of Sales & Marketing for the company; a role he excelled in for the next 3 years while directing and mentoring the sales teams of up to 15 properties at any given time, prior to joining the Sun Development team.
