Jared Karras has spent more than 15 years in the hospitality industry, focusing on both Food & Beverage and Rooms Operations. From small specialty boutique operations to four and five-star hotels featuring fine-dining venues, Jared’s expertise in delivering superior service is unparalleled. Jared’s efforts have resulted in such honors as InterContinental Hotels Group prestigious “Best Dining Experience – North America”, “2002 Conversion of the Year” as awarded by Marriott International to the Renaissance – Boca Raton, as well as several local honors in various markets nationwide. Jared’s Food & Beverage expertise encompasses venue concept, design and development, menu development and implementation, and service training. Jared’s extensive knowledge of wines has culminated in the Wine Spectator’s 2004, 2005 and 2006 Award of Excellence for the only award-winning Porter’s Steakhouse, located in the southern Illinois / St. Louis, Missouri market.

Jared brings the same energy and drive to the Rooms Division of the hotels he is associated with; he earned the position of Director of Operations for a mid-sized management company comprised of more than 15 properties prior to joining the Sun Development team.  Jared guided many of these properties through complete renovation and re-branding.

Jared is a Certified Food & Beverage Executive (CFBE) and a graduate of the Dale Carnegie Course, as well as Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers. Jared is recognized for his ability to develop service oriented cultures by developing and leading individuals through training and implementation of service enhancing programs.
